Skill Building- Building working skills today for a more promising tomorrow! 

  • Work Center - Functional vocational skill training.   
  • PreVocational - Vocational, personal, and social training. 
  • Recreational - Special Olympics, bowling, swimming, etc.
  • Volunteer Program - Supportive community inclusion.
  • Supported Self-Employment - Support with small business operation.
  • Community Employment - Off site supported work services.
  • Program Participant Council - Input through communication.
  • Job readiness/ preparation.
  • Employment - Lawn maintenance, building and grounds maintenance, janitorial services, on site production services.

    Program Access-Referral from an established agency such as:

    Lapeer County Community Mental Health

    Private Individuals are accepted

    Sanilac County Community Mental Health

    Local School Districts

    Lapeer I.S.D. - Transition from school to work


Skill Building Program
Skilled Tasks:  Provide program participants with a variety of functional vocational experiences designed to increase their overall level of competence.                                

Activities: Provide community based activities designed to increase each persons community awareness and knowledge of available opportunities.

Prevocational Program
Provide program participants with a variety of activities designed to maximize their level of competence in the areas of vocational training, personal and social development, community awareness and integration. We believe that with the appropriate support these skills can and will be maintained over time.

Client Services We Provide:

  • Transportation for activities
  • Community integration
  • Appropriate meaningful work that increases self-worth
